“Mile Away”

I hate mess and I feel that since I’ve moved back to the States, I live in a mess, a constant mess, and I really don’t like it. So today, I decided to do something about it, so I finally dropped my dry cleaning stuff of at the dry cleaners. Then I went to Target to get some things to clean up the hangers and hangers of pants that I have. I still had too much stuff lying around so I went to the place that I will be buying most of my furniture from whenever I get my own place…IKEA.

Ikea is great, the entire store is filled with nice, beautiful, simple items that are easy to organize. I enjoyed walking around and hearing the different languages being spoken and various people wondering around but not walking  into each other. I mentally built my house but happily it was just mentally. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to decided which closet organizer did I want, the cheaper blue 4-shelf hanging organizer ($3.99 pre tax) but could not have any drawers, or the black 6-shelf hanging organizer that I could get drawers for, or the expensive black and white hanging organizer with the admittedly pretty drawers. So I ended up mixing the black hanging shelf with the pretty drawers, since all the drawers were the same price.

So afterwards, I took the scenic drive back to Pearland, taking in the Houston skyline, which is underrated I think as city skylines go. One of these days, I’ll figure out how to take a picture of it so that I can prove my point. Stay tuned.

  1. Go to Laura’s Fotki (I think it’s http://public.fotki.com/Laoorah), where she’s got lots of pictures, including some of Houston’s downtown skyline. She & I drove over to the park along Allen Parkway and went crazy taking pictures of it one day, because we love it so much. I have some awesome night pictures of it, too, from when I went to SummerFest last summer. (SummerFest is Houston’s first music festival!)
