Yesterday, November 30th, marked the beginning of the Advent season in the Catholic Church, as well as the beginning of the Liturgical year.
Father Dennis made some wonderful comments during his homily that I wanted to share:
- The last couple of Sundays, the Catholic Church’s readings and Gospels have asked us to look inward and forward to the end of the world/time, where do we stand and what will we take with us?
- Christmas is a family feast of people coming together, to reconnect while the largest celebration in our faith, Easter, is a stark contrast with the Passion and the Redemption.
- We’re told to look forward to redemption, because remember Jesus came for the sinners, for us.
